FOOTSTEPS OF PEACE CELEBRATES THE HARDTending The Peace

Often times, the story you read about in the paper or hear on the local news, is negative when it comes to law enforcement and corrections. That's because we focus on and remember the most emotional stories, which in this case are generally negative. In reality, the hard and everyday work of law enforcement, corrections and mental health are positive success stories. The positive stories are big for those involved, but not quite dramatic enough for the news.

Many defendants, inmates and prisoners will tell you that most all of the work being done by law enforcement, corrections and mental health is flawless. There are many prisoners who become success stories because of the good work these professionals perform. They work hard everyday to make an impact.

There are many prisoners who do not get that the whole process from investigation, arrest, sentencing to parole is about helping them. Why? Name one person involved in law enforcement, corrections or mental health that doesn't want every single criminal defendant to become a success story? Even the worst of the worst are desired to eventually become a success. To be a success, you have to want it. Criminal defendants, inmates and prisoners, need to see the criminal justice process not as being destructive to them, but as a chance to be a success. If they do, they might just become a success themselves.

Every defendant, inmate and prisoner that is effected by law enforcement, corrections and mental health is a celebration of the hard and everyday work these professionals perform. So, let's celebrate their work, help heal victims of crime and encourage prisoners to become a success!

Let us walk in the FOOTSTEPS OF PEACE and thank your local, state and federal law enforcement, corrections and mental health professionals for the hard and everyday work they perform.

Thank you for supporting Footsteps of Peace!
